How to setup POP3 Emails with Windows Mail *Vista*
Step 1 - Your Display Name
First of all you need to load up your Windows Mail application to do this you click on the Windows Orb and then select All Programs and scroll up until you see Windows Mail click on this to load the application. Once the application has loaded you will be prompted to enter you Display Name, this is normally your real name or your nickname. Once you have enter this click the Next button at the lower right corner of the window.

Step 2 - Internet E-Mail Address
You will now be asked to enter your email address, this is the address that has been given to your by your POP3 email provider. Enter your email address and press Next at the lower corner of the window to continue.

Step 3 - Set up e-mail servers
First of all make sure POP3 is selected in the Incoming e-mail server type drop down menu at the top. Now enter your Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: and Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name: these are normally your websites domain name but with mail. in front of them instead of www. but this is not always the case so refer to the email sent to you by your POP3 email provider with the correct information. Leave Outgoing server requires authentication un-ticked unless you email provider says otherwise, press Next to continue.

Step 4 - Internet Mail Logon
You will now need to enter your email username and password, your email provider should have sent this information to you via email, in most cases you username will be your actually email address. Tick remember password and press Next to continue.

Step 5 - Setup Complete, Congratulations
You have now setup Windows Mail for Vista and ready to start using your POP3 email account, press next and then send a test email to andrew.jones@cqwebdesign.co.uk to see if everything is working.
